The Miami Oral Histories Collection is comprised of oral histories relating to the Civil Rights movement in south Florida. This project was made possible thanks to grant funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Service’s Library Services and Technology Act Grant Program which is administered by the Florida Department of State, Division of Library and Information Services, Bureau of Library Development. The students of William H. Turner Technical High School conducted and recorded the interviews on mini-dv tapes. The FIU Libraries’ Digital Collection Center has digitized, transcribed, and published the oral history materials and placed them on the web.
